Pukenamu House

This Taupo home needed to reflect its lake location – moody and edgy, with deeper, darker tones warmed up by multiple brass elements. The entrance hall showcases a custom-made aged brass cabinet, the molten metal tones highlighted by feature lighting from Matisse. The dark bespoke colour of the Forte specialist timber flooring weaves through the home, producing a visual collaboration with both kitchen cabinetry and the dark stone of the bathroom. The moody, cool vibe of the kitchen has been created by contrasts and lighting, cabinetry timber has been stained to match the custom colour of the flooring while tonally the island is dramatically juxtaposed.

The main bathroom showcases an oversized sink, stunning granite, and custom cabinetry which references back to the kitchen. The white and limestone palette of the master bathroom bring a freshness, with the bedroom again harking back to the moody tones. Lounge areas have been designed around the panorama – the entertainment area utilizing a curved sofa which offsets the geometric pendant light. The second lounge combines a snug area with a feature fireplace, custom rug and artwork to create intimacy. Details of the build such as oversized joinery make the connection between the house and lake, this is a home where the structure does the talking.
